Big Bass with a side of Corona Virus!
I don't know how many times I've started write-ups like this by saying, "this is one for the record books." Plenty I'm sure. But for some reason this one just might top them all. And not necessarily because of the fishing. Seriously.
So let's just get it out of the way early. Yes, I infected Mike and Wes with Corona Virus. And yes they took it back to their families. And yes, a whole bunch of people had to get tested and quarantine for weeks. I still don't see what the big deal is. Matt was fine. Enough of that pandemic stuff. How about the fishing eh? It was ..... good? I think. There were at least two PBs on smallies and I caught the biggest walleye I've ever seen in Black Lake. The average size was great, but unfortunately the numbers were down. Really down for some of us. Oh well, at least we got to make a new friend, Dennis! What a stand up guy. I hope to fish with him again some day. As always we had great food, better snacks, too much soda and junk food, and not enough time to enjoy it all. The weather was great, the scenery outstanding, the camaraderie second to none, and the memories will last forever. Oh, and we spent half a day fishing the St. Lawrence. It was horrible. End of story. |
