"You just take care of Beulah, ya here"
the immortal words of Don
Klotz Lake - The Place Where Dreams are Made

You just can't make this stuff up.
If you are reading this, you know the basic background. Beat up old motorhomes, crappy aluminum boats, barely running jacked up 4x4s, outhouses, twangy country eight track tapes. The list goes on and on. But through all that we managed to catch lots of fish and make some pretty amazing lifelong memories.
What Grandpa and Glen did for us over the years was nothing short of heroic. They took time off work, spent a lot of money, and put up with our adolescent shenanigans .... just so we could catch some fish. But not just any fish. Northern pike. Yes, we caught walleye too, but its the pike that really get in your blood. That ferocious attitude and thrashing fighting style are straight up addicting. Its that addiction that takes us on our yearly trek in search of just one more toothy critter.
I could write volumes about the adventures we had and the things we did. I suppose one day I will. But in truth, reading about it, or even looking at pictures will never truly do justice to how amazing, memorable, and influential these trips really were.

Sweat Pants?

Apparently sweat pants and logo shirts from your local middle school were the uniform of the day. Its crazy to look back at just how young we were when Grandpa took us to Klotz for the first time. We really didn't know what we were getting into ... figured it would be just like fishing at marsh creek, but with bigger fish.
Boy were we wrong. Lets just say taking a five mile boat ride down a skinny river into a huge lake, fishing all day, and then running back up the river to camp was all in a days work. And when I say running back up the river ... picture about eight inches of water and grandpa running the little 9.9 full throttle bouncing up through the rapids. It was nuts. It was awesome!
