First trip out with the new Jet Boat - March '18 Since we do a lot of fishing on the Susquehanna River, I decided to get a jet boat. Because, more boats is always a good thing. Right Jenn? I did my research and drove down to West Virginia to purchase a 17' Weld-Craft stick steer boat with a 90HP Yamaha jet. It's awesome! For the maiden voyage I took Amelia and Charlie out on the river at Columbia, just outside of Lancaster. The water temps were in the high 30s and the air temps were in the mid 40s. Oh, and it was gray and windy. Awful weather! No fish were caught, but an entire carton of double stuffed Oreos was consumed. Sensing the kids were bored, I pulled up on a few islands where they proceeded to play in the mud. A lot of mud. Gross mud. Mud that got all over them, the new boat, me, and the inside of the Suburban. Oh well, we had fun and made memories! |
